Anywhere near Atlantic Avenue, the constraint isn't the furniture — it's the street. Delray's downtown is deliberately pedestrian, which is lovely to live in and awkward to move into. Loading space is limited, the avenue is busy from late morning onward, and an event weekend can close your access entirely.
The housing changes fast as you move away from it. Del-Ida Park and Osceola Park have 1920s cottages and bungalows with narrow doorways, tight lots and no elevator. Pineapple Grove is newer townhome infill — three storeys, internal stairs, no lift. Lake Ida and Seagate are single-family homes with driveways a truck can actually use.
